From 2011 coverage has changed for the customer in case of failure of the bank's.

In fact, implementing the European directive 2009/14, entered into force on D. LGS. 49/2011(I enclose the bottom of the document), that, de facto, introduces a new mechanism for the management of bank failures.

The new rules provide that with respect to 103.291,38 euros before expected, the maximum repayment, insolvency of the bank, becomes 100.000,00 € (reimbursement covers only the amount in stock on current accounts and deposits).

Who makes the refund is the Interbank Deposit Protection Fund, which are required to join the Italian banks.

The terms of repayment have been modified, Indeed, instead of three months, with the new decree to twenty working days, within which the repayment is, the date on which they produce the effects of forced liquidation by order of the Bank of Italy because of exceptional circumstances (with possibility of extension for a further ten days).
