Current accounts payable to migrant citizens in Italy are over 2,7 million (al 31/12/2016). Equal to 75% adult immigrants living in Italy account holders. Of these, one in two 'access' to banking services through the web; nearly one in three uses their smartphone or tablet to perform financial transactions.
The Observatory National Financial Inclusion of Migrants It is a multi-year project, a collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and the Italian Banking Association (HELP). It intends to provide a tool for analysis and constant monitoring of the organic phenomenon of financial inclusion of migrants in our country, defined as: "The complex of activities developed to facilitate access and effective use of financial services by persons not yet fully integrated into the formal financial system.
The Observatory National Financial Inclusion of Migrants therefore intends to respond to the information needs, support, discussion and training, providing appropriate tools aimed at operators, policy maker, migrant associations for "education" to financial inclusion.
