The firepower of the Italian banking world is very large, there is a lot of liquidity in the banks which can therefore continue to finance the economy in the coming months, it will depend on the Government's will to continue and extend the guarantees“. To support it is Camillo Venesio, vice president of ABI and general manager of the Banca del Piemonte in an interview with ANSA, according to which it is necessary to extend the extraordinary measures adopted to deal with the emergency caused by Covid-19.

In addition, trade associations and trade unions ask for even more resources to support the economic and social fabric, knowing that they will not be enough to compensate for the accumulated losses, and that they will also be insufficient to face the coming months that promise to be difficult.

And therefore in the face of the umpteenth wave of spread of the virus, that is crossing our country far and wide, it is a time of support for all, businesses and households, to face and overcome new more or less generalized lockdowns, with continuous measures:

  • extraordinary contributions on a sector basis for non-collection;
  • loss compensation;
  • suspension of payment of taxes and Inps contributions, Inail and mortgage payments;
  • access for businesses to ordinary and extraordinary social safety nets but also to income support funds;
  • forms of facilitated access to credit.

The recent Dpcm goes in this direction (always to expect new measures) which introduced a non-repayable grant to support operators in the economic sectors affected by the restrictive measures just introduced (Bar, Restaurants, Gyms, Hotels, and other activities).

All this with the eye turned the other way so as not to look at the public debt which has now broken through 2.500 billion.
