Deepen yet the relationship between families and the private health expenditure. In this regard are interesting data presented recently at Bocconi Observatory on private consumption in health.
In the first instance the data dismantle the argument that the private health expenditure is compensating the poor quality of the public.

The private health expenditure of households in the 2011 (latest available year) was approximately 28 billion € (the 20% of total health care spending in our country equal to 140 billion €).
The Observatory makes it a ranking that sees the first places Trentino Alto Adige 707 euro head of expenditure in 2011, then the Veneto (666) Friuli Venezia Giulia (588) and Emilia-Romagna (564), while at the bottom of the list is the Sardinia 350 euro apiece and to follow the Basilicata (325), Sicily (289) e Campania (239).
The analysis outlined four different homogeneous groups about the consumption behavior of households private health. The first is to identify families who spend little (average 68,8 euro a month per family and 15,5 euro to head), the second those who spend much just for dental expenses (average 535 euro a month per family and 171 euro to head), the third for those who spend illness (average 257 euro a month per family and 96 euro to head) and the fourth group is the one that identifies households spend more for the welfare (average 1.071 euro a month per family and 396 euro to head).
Finally, a curiosity about the waiting times in the choice of the healthcare facility depending on the type of performance: the analysis has identified, for example, that they are considered important for the dermatological and pediatric, but less for the eye examination.
