Sono state centonovantasette le operazioni di cambio lira euro eseguite dalla Banca D’Italia from 22 January 2016 al 1 July 2016 (Read 3.738.614.770 Euro 1.930.833,39).
In fact, in attuazione della sentenza n. 216/2015 Constitutional Court, who has declared illegitimate the norm (Decree Law Government Monti) that anticipated by 28 February 2012 al 6 December 2011 the deadline for conversion of lire, last 22 January began at branches of the Bank of Italy, on instructions from the Ministry of Economy and Finance dated 21 January 2016, exchange operations. Originally there was the limitation period for the pound-euro exchange rate, fixed for the 28 February 2012. After this date the holder of the right to return the lost.
But what happens now to the citizens who still have the lire in the house?
Il Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze ha esplicitamente previsto l’obbligo di dimostrare di aver presentato la richiesta di cambio tra il 6 December 2011 and 28 February 2012, specifying the amount. Under current legislation, the Bank of Italy may therefore proceed with the conversion of lire if that requirement is met.
