The display of the Green Card is mandatory for crossing borders and circulation in non-EU countries and it is therefore important to keep it aboard your vehicle.
If from next month, upon renewal of your third party liability policy (Third Party Liability), it will be delivered to you in black and white don't be scared, it is not a toner problem!
It is due to the fact that, as required by the circulars ofItalian Central Office (FIA) n. 5/2019 and 01/2020, the Italian insurance market agreed to issue green cards in black and white format, leaving the back of the document completely blank.
The adoption of the new printing method is optional but the countries of the Green Card System that decide not to change the format will have to accept the Green Cards printed in the new mode. Green Cards already in circulation on 1 July 2020 and which will expire at the latest 30 June 2021 will remain valid and will not need to be replaced.
Where a printout or reprint of a Green Card connected to a previously issued policy is required, after 1 July 2020 the Companies will use the new format.
