Bitcoin is now on everyone's lips. E’ a digital and decentralized currency. The operation is based on software that provides each user with a virtual wallet with which to carry out transactions.
The volatility of Bitcoin is extremely high (there are those who claim it is 18 times higher than that of the dollar). Bubbles and crises have followed one another since its creation (now they are also highlighted in the evening news on TV)
There is a growing number of companies and individuals accepting Bitcoin payments. So far none of the big states have regulated it, but no one has declared it illegal.
At the moment, the purchase of crypto-assets is not subject to the rules on the transparency of banking products and investment services and therefore lacks specific forms of protection and supervision by the Supervisory Authorities.
Consob and Banca d'Italia draw the attention of savers to the high risks associated with crypto-asset operations (cryptoasset) which may involve the full loss of the sums of money used.
They do this by posting a Press release joint with which they warn against the risks inherent in crypto-assets, pointing out that it is also a "land of conquest" for illegal operators, unauthorized, not regulated.
In closing, however, they report that the approval process of the regulatory proposal put forward by the European Commission is underway in order to define a legal framework for these instruments (issue, the offer to the public, the provision of services and the fight against market abuse in relation to the different types of crypto-assets).
But who invented Bitcoin?
Nobody knows if it's a man or a woman or more likely a group of people. Only the pseudonym of the inventor of Bitcoin is known in 2009, SATOSHI NAKAMOTO.
