Bank of Italy published the first Economic Bulletin of 2023. a place 46 of the publication, downloadable for free from the Institute website, we read the numbers relating to the holding of crypto-assets by Italian families:
“Based on the data collected, it turns out that in 2022 550thousand Italian families (the 2,2 percent) they owned crypto assets. The amount of cryptoassets held by households is limited: two thirds of the households reported having up to 5.000 €, while only 11 percent declared amounts greater than 30.000 €.”
Increased figure compared to 2021 given that in Report on the investment choices of Italian families. Attitudes and behavioral profiles, the analysis carried out by Consob, the percentage of households holding crypto-assets was between 1 and 2 percent:
“Interest in crypto-assets has also increased, in an ever-expanding world market, characterized by a high heterogeneity of assets and strong price volatility, and as part of the intense acceleration of the digitalisation of financial services.“
