ANIA and Ipsos conducted a study on Italians' perception of risks, on new protection needs and citizens' propensity to take out insurance.
The research reveals widespread awareness of the adverse events that can occur throughout life, as well as a high interest in taking charge of the situation and making a differenceproactive diagnosis through the insurance check-up, especially in young people.
Currently there is still a difference between perception of exposure to risks and propensity to insure, but this gap could progressively narrow.
The reasons for the gap between risk perception and activation of insurance coverage highlighted in the research probably also originate from:
- insufficient cultural reflection on risks;
- low awareness of the negative consequences of not questioning and not sufficiently monitoring the area of risk protection;
- modest awareness of being able to also activate insurance protections against perceived risks.
The research therefore confirms that there is ample space for development to increase the culture of Italians towards risks and consequently the demand for insurance solutions.
What if superstition had an impact?
Read his Wikipedia that thegood luck it's a form ofsuperstition according to which some phrases or gestures would attract or push away thefortuna o tobad luck.
The "superstitious" culture therefore also has its effects on the poor attitude of Italians to insurance. A recent SWG survey found that as many as forty percent of those interviewed believed they were being superstitious; the 5% he confessed that he always was, the 35% only in some situations.
