Born with the Budget Law of 2017 to support the Italian entrepreneurial fabric, the PIRs aim to direct savings to the real economy: they are forms of medium-long term investment in financial instruments of companies that, when certain requirements established by law are met, allow subscribers to obtain tax benefits.
Since they have had a continuous regulatory evolution, until reaching the current formulation, an updated guide is easy to understand what PIRs are, who they are reserved for, what forms they take, such as tax benefits such as the one published in digital format on the website ofItalian Banking Association (HELP).
The new guide dedicated to Individual Savings Plans (Pir), promoted byItalian Banking Association (Abi) in collaboration with banks and consumer associations as part of the "Simple Transparency" initiative for the creation and dissemination of information tools on the main banking and financial issues of interest to citizens.
It also illustrates the innovations recently introduced by Advances Decree (Law 191/23 of conversion of the legislative decree 145/23 “Urgent measures in economic and fiscal matters, in favor of local authorities, to protect employment and for non-deferrable needs") that, in particular, exceeds the uniqueness criterion by increasing the number of plans that each natural person can own, if within the annual and overall investment limits established by law.
The Guide downloadable here, it is also available to the Banks and Associations that participated in the project.
