How do I know if my deceased family member had signed a life insurance policy?

This is the answer given by the Authority, that monitor the operations of the Company and Insurance Intermediaries:

  • you can contact the “Service life insurance search” dell'ANIA (National Association of Insurance companies) offering applicants (such as spouses Deaths) information on the existence, at Italian businesses, life insurance coverage related to the deceased, hypothesized assured. The research is based on test, tra l’altro, that the name of the person requesting the information to appear among the beneficiaries of the policy. It is suggested, therefore, to formulate many requests as there are potential beneficiaries. Example: if a family member died, father of two, it is good to formulate the request both his wife and each of the two sons, to expand your search range.
