L’Italia, in the general context, it is a kaleidoscope of possible alternatives and possible turning points. The exuberant post-pandemic growth of the 2021 and of 2022, the Italian economy loses the drive of consumption which – despite inflation and only thanks to the support of savings and consumer credit (after 11 Over the years, deposits have started to decline again and the use of consumer credit has increased) – they supported the GDP in the first part of the year. Meanwhile we are in the midst of anti-inflation quarter (1° October – 31 December 2023), a pact between government, producers and distributors to help contain prices and protect the purchasing power of consumers, especially families, in order to counteract the inflationary pressure and prevent it from becoming structural.

The distribution companies that join the initiative undertake to offer aselection of items at low prices, with particular attention to everyday products that are part of the "shopping cart", and not to increase the price of this selection, for the types of commercial initiatives that allow it, during the anti-inflation quarter.
